Focus: The challenges on PIC/S Annex 2b and EudraLex Annex 2.
Experts from the authorities and industry will give presentations on the following topics:
Requirements for Bioburden reduced biological drug substance:
Zone concept
CIP, SIP and sterilization of direct and indirect product contact surfaces
Application of Annex 1
Filtration requirements
Etc.
In three Workshops with case studies, we will have the opportunity to apply what we have learnt, discuss possible solutions together and exchange experiences.

Dates: 20 to 22 May 2025 (meeting starts on Tuesday 20 May, 9h00 and will end on Thursday 22 May, after lunch at approx. 14h00)
Registration fee: There will be no registration fee. Lunches and coffee breaks during the training are part of the event and will be provided by Swissmedic.
Costs for travel and accommodation are on each participants own charge.

Our venue, the Hotel Banana City, is just 350 metres or a 6-minute walk from Winterthur train station and offers the infrastructure needed for a conference.
For the participants of the GMP-Training, we have pre-booked a number of rooms at the venue.
Price: CHF 170.00 per night, including breakfast, excluding service & fees and the city tax of CHF 3.50 per person per night.
Booking process
Bookings are made by the participants directly by e-mail to the hotel info@bananacity.ch with your travel dates and mention the conference code Swissmedic24.
A credit card is required to guarantee the hotel booking.
Rooms are allocated on a first come first serve basis.
Hotel rooms must be booked before 18 April 2025.
All participants are responsible for making their own bookings.
Costs for accommodation are at participants own charge.
The hotel costs must be paid upon departure.
Costs for reserved rooms are subject to the cancellation policy of the hotel.
Travelling by air
Zurich Kloten Airport (ZRH) is the largest international airport in Switzerland and only a 20-minute train ride from Winterthur. Various trains run from the airport to Winterthur main station approximately every 10 minutes.

Travelling by train
Winterthur is one of the most heavily used railway stations in Switzerland. Regular train connections from Bern, Zurich and Geneva take you to Winterthur and guarantee access to all international train connections.

The Dinner on the first evening of the GMP-Training (Tuesday 20 May 2025) is almost a tradition in itself. We warmly invite you to make use of the opportunity to make contacts and engage in interesting conversations outside of the seminar room in a relaxed atmosphere. Swissmedic invites all participants to dinner at the Restaurant Strauss.
The STRAUSS brings people, cultures and tastes together, inspiring and surprising. We will embark on a culinary journey together within the venerable walls of the restaurant, located in the heart of Winterthur.
